Cee R Adventures is a family travel blog that chronicles the journey of Randy & Christlyn and their two girls, Camryn Reece & Caia Riley. With numerous trips yearly, they share their experiences and travel tips while juggling a career in the music industry and their life in the suburbs of Long Island.
Since meeting each other in New York City back in 2001, Randy & Christlyn shared a passion for dining and traveling together. Despite our financial constraints in our formative years in college, we dreamed of seeing the world together and sampling different cuisines in our travels. From our humble spring break together in California, to Randy being deployed in the Middle East as part of the Air National Guard, to our wedding proposal in the City of Lights, we’ve endured and stayed focused and passionate about planning our next adventure in exploring the world.
Based in Brooklyn, NY, we grinded in the concrete jungle to build our life together. Randy worked in the music industry at Sony Music Entertainment, Jive Records, and eventually landing at RCA Records. He also was as an up-and-coming DJ who worked every weekend in nightlife and events. Christlyn navigated the worlds of real estate, healthcare, and the financial sector. We were fortunate that DJing allowed us the opportunity to travel for gigs across the country and continue to explore different cities together. As we gained experience and became more seasoned travelers, we planned on starting a family and vowed we wouldn’t stop exploring and to make it a point to share the world with our children so they may gain a wider and more complete perspective of the world.
2013-14 was a pivotal year where we had our first child Camryn Reece and a very big career move for Randy as he transitioned to a fast-paced career at Atlantic Records as a music promoter. In 2015, our second child, Caia Riley came into the world and now we had two children under 2 years old! On top of caring for 2 children, we were in the midst of a massive house renovation in our Brooklyn apartment that lasted close to 18 months. We persevered through the many changes in our lives and credit taking the time to travel to keep our sanity. During this time, we planned trips to escape our inhospitable environment and recharge.
As the renovations came to an end, our wanderlust kept us going but unfortunately, came to an abrupt end during the pandemic. As everyone was stuck at home, our Brooklyn space was no longer big enough to contain our restlessness. in 2021, we moved to the suburbs of Long Island and fell in love with our open environment and the possibilities of new adventures together.
While our family thrived in our new surroundings, our family vacations were always top of mind. We started this blog to chronicle our travels and share our unique experience as a Filipino-American immigrant family of four. We look forward to provide our readers with helpful tips and tricks as we navigate the world and share our experience and perspective on family, food, and creating lasting memories.
Randy aka “DJ RaiZe”
What’s Up? I’m Randy, mostly referred to as Dad and professionally known as RaiZe or Reyes. I’m a music lover, a veteran, and I love to eat!
Music has been a big part of my life personally and professionally. My father’s love of music has been a big part of my musical background and I credit him for the diversity of genres that I have learned to love. My mother used to tell me stories that my grandfather was a DJ of sorts back in the Philippines and used to provide sound for the many festivals and political events that came to their small province. Who knew that I would be able to put myself through college through djing and surprisingly, be able to transition my hobby into an amazing career in the music business that has continually provided for my family and our travels.
As a teenager, I fell in love with DJing and through my tenacity, non-stop networking, coupled with consistency, and lots of luck, I was able to finagle a career in music promotion for Jive Records, RCA Records, and currently at Atlantic Records. DJing has allowed me to travel across the country and in different parts of the world. While juggling a career in the music industry and moonlighting as a DJ 3-4 days a week, I thrived financially and professionally at the expense of a balanced family life. With our decision to have kids, DJing slowed down as I focused on family and career.
As we welcomed Camryn & Caia in 2013 and 2015 respectively, I worked less in nightlife and savored every family trip. From taking Camryn to Hawaii when she was 8 months old and bringing both our girls to Disney Paris when they were both under 2 years old. We all caught the travel bug and our adventures have grown more frequent with multiple destinations in one trip and longer days on the road. While we miss our home after being away, once we’re home, we yearn to travel again and share our experiences on the road with you all.
My role in Cee R Adventures focus on planning our trips, writing about our adventures, driving the family around, and maintaining our website. Collectively, we create playlists on Spotify to provide the perfect soundtrack for our trip.
